Late Late Dinner in Chicago

Dinner at Volare Ristorante Italiano Chicago, right around the corner from the Christmas tree and on the way back to our hotel near Michigan Ave.

We walked over to dinner and had some wonderful Italian food that I still can remember, having fun with friends makes everything better! Next to the Red Head Piano bar for some Late, Late, Late singing and drinks! The bars in Chicago stay open to 3am we are told….

Starbucks Chicago Roastery

Well our friends Bruce told us there was a HUGE Starbucks on Michigan Ave, with a spiral escalator and it was four stories tall with a line for coffee on every floor and a medium would cost us $7.00. We had to check it out!

Yep, everything Bruce promised, plus so much more. Starbucks – Chicago Roastery is incredible. If you like coffee, this is the place for you, and $7.00 is worth it for the coolness factor of just visiting.

This is soooo cool, the coffee starts at the bottom, boils up to the top, then drops to the bottom, is filtered out and put in a fancy cup!

Bubba Gump Shrimp Co Lunch at Chicago’s Navy Pier

Quick Break from RSNA (Radiological Society of North America) meeting for Lunch at Bubba Gump Shrimp Co location at Navy Pier, Chicago. This is a fun restaurant location with the Forest Gump movie theme with Forests and Lt Dan’s Shrimp business as the inner theme. All kinds of Shrimp – we love the place and the food.

I had the crab stuff shrimp. I could not finish it – so had some for a late night snack afterward!!!

Les Nomades, Chicago

Next year, we are going to try this restaurant out, but looks like reservations are required. We loved the feel, look and menu of this place. It is so close to our hotel, we could walk over. Date night idea 2020!

We would do the early menu and just splurge!

Dim Sum in Chicago

A quick lunch between lectures with my friends at a Dim Sum Restaurant –

dim sum[ˌdim ˈsəm]NOUN a Chinese dish of small steamed or fried savory dumplings containing various fillings, served as a snack or main course.

We ordered too much, but loved it. The salt and pepper soft shell crab was the tastiest! I also love the sesame balls for dessert.

GE – Revolution Meeting

Outside of wonderful friends meeting up together at RSNA, we also love the educational courses. I heard a great lecture on 10-15% radiation dose reduction in the US over the last 10 years. Then we went to the GE Rev lecture on the GE CT Revolution. I have two at my facility in Detroit.

Below is our great friend Dimitris from Greece (the hub of all humanity as he calls it), a physicist from Penn State. Alec (the young one) a physics student from Wayne State University, and Matt a former co-worker I have known since Wayne State – who now works as the therapy physicist in Midland, MI. Matt and Alec are brothers.

Lawry’s Steak House, Chicago Illinois

We recently had dinner with friends and co workers at Lawry’s Steak House in Chicago Illinois, see previous post for more of this dinner site. We go every year to Chicago for RSNA, the Radiological Society of North America. This is our Dinner spot. Sharing a few pictures of the beautiful site! It is filled with history and we love it.

Sushi, Saki, and the Chicago Field Museum

What an enjoyable evening with my husband at the Hitachi Buffet at the Chicago Field museum. We walked 3 blocks over from our Fair Field Inn Ontario street hotel to the AAPM, American Association of Physicists in Medicine cocktail party at the Chicago Hilton. Then to the Hitachi Party. All the Japanese Sushi and Saki we could want, then tours of the museum at our freedom. An incredible night!

I love this Sexy Man at the RSNA Hitachi Field Museum Event.  I feel so lucky and blessed to have these incredible times with him!
