Japan Kimonos

We noticed the Kimonos, but put it together pretty quickly, that these are only worn at special locations. If we were at Disney or a Temple or an event we saw Kimonos. Here are a few pictures we saw.

The kimono is a traditional Japanese garment. The word kimono literally means ki (着 “wearing”, specifically on the upper body) + mono (物 “thing”).

    I do associate Kimonos with Japan far more than anything.

      It was beautiful to see them walking and sometimes men as well, but only if in a couple.

      It looked like it, we went to a shop and tried some on, they were heavy in quality fabric and I am sure you could faster at it, but complex to put on.

      Oh, one more thing, heavy fabric – and it is super hot/humid there.

        I thought that the “yukata” is a lighter version of a kimono for summer. Even then, the body is largely covered.

        We sat right next them and it looked super high quality thick, but were could be wrong, were not experts for sure

      Yeah, it is, but also she is small in size and they are everywhere these vending machines, they sell a lot of tea, but also soda and alcohol as well.

      There were two girls wearing the same pattern at different locations, BUT – maybe it was the same girl and we just showed up at the same locations on the same day.

    Ooh, I’d love to wear one! 😀 It can be quite pretty.

    My hubby would love to go to Japan. It seems too costly though, even the airfares.

      We got a ticket for ~$900 but we left from Toronto, which is about a 3 hour drive from our home in Michigan. I noticed on Travelocity you can find deals if you sign up for the watch, and I see awesome deals on Travelzoo all the time.

        Thank you for the tip there. I’ll check them out. We think the US of A has better prices than South Africa. Hubby and I said we will use a VPN to hide we’re in SA and see if we can get better deals. 😊 I will definitely check Travelocity and Travelzoo. Thanks a mil!

    They are gorgeous! My daughter has a pretty unique style of dress and has several, one of which she will adapt to wear to a live role playing event this weekend. 🙂 🙂

      We love Mulan in our house. The daughters love her because she’s one of the first Disney characters that Kick-Butt herself without having to be saved by the prince
